Oliver Hydcovalves Supports UK’s Largest Hydrogen Storage Facility
Oliver Hydcovalves has collaborated with suppliers working on the Hynet Project to decarbonise the North West for over a year and this latest green energy development is a remarkable and positive step forward for hydrogen energy and valve technology.
To tackle climate change and help the UK reach its net-zero emissions target, plans to construct an underground hydrogen storage facility located north of Middlewich, Cheshire, will be the UK’s largest facility of its kind.
Planning was granted in 2017 and if recent amendments are approved, the site will include up to 19 underground cavities with the capacity to store enough hydrogen to power more than 100,000 UK homes for a whole year.
